Jeanneau Leader: Built for Summer Cruising Fun

With so many people feeling house-bound during these unprecedented times, boating has become a go-to recreational choice for families worldwide. After all, boating offers plenty of socially distant opportunities to safely explore, play, and get together in the great outdoors.

If you’ve been dreaming of getting yourself and your family out on the water this summer, there’s no better choice than a brand new Jeanneau Leader 12.5

Combining luxury, comfort, and livability, the Leader 12.5 offers sporty lines, distinct areas for relaxing or entertaining, and generous interior spaces for a day outing with friends or a weekend cruise with family.

Jeanneau’ s superb design team partnered with Florida’s own Michael Peters Yacht Design and Sarrazin Design to create a boating experience that is anything but ordinary. They’ve reimagined construction techniques and used innovative, high-end technology to produce a lighter, faster, and more comfortable cruising experience.

The Leader 12.5’s hull and stringers are molded as one single piece, which means more fiberglass, less resin, and therefore less weight. Her deep-V hull features two lifting strakes and a full-length chine, allowing for a sharp entry and a smooth, dry, and comfortable ride in various sea conditions.

Three 4.2-liter 300HP Yamaha V6 four-stroke outboards produce an optimum cruising speed between 30 and 35 mph, and she can reach a top speed approaching 50 mph.

The helm station features a 3-seat leaning post with armrests. Its large dashboard  accommodates your choice of either 12-inch or 16-inch twin Garmin screens.

Aft, the cockpit features a roomy L-shaped bench with a fold-up seatback that creates more sunbathing space, as well as a fiberglass table with removable legs. Even more unique, though, is the Leader’s “terrace” that drops down to port with the flip of a switch and instantly expands the entertaining space and access to the water. The starboard side of the aft cockpit offers a convenient boarding gate. You can also customize the aft cockpit to include an optional remote-controlled SureShade awning.

The aft cockpit also features an entertainment island that includes a working countertop, an electric grill, two sinks, and a 13-gallon fridge, as well as lots of storage. You can include other options like a live well, a second 13-gallon fridge, or an ice maker, and a bulkhead-mounted television.Image 0718: Jeanneau Leader entertainment cockpit

Below decks, you’ll find a fully equipped galley with either a ceramic cooktop or gas stove, a fridge, and room for an optional microwave. Forward seating in the salon converts to a king-size bed, and the roomy, full width midships master cabin offers a full king bed, with a convenient enclosed head and shower on the starboard side.
